2D Level Environment Designer

Project: Tribe of the Accord
Location: Remote
Duration: Ongoing/Fixed Part time Contract with initial trial period.
Agreement: Rate and hours negotiable. A Work for Hire agreement is required before starting.
Game Summary
Tribe of the Accord is a pixel-art action game where you play as Adira, a young huntress on a quest to rescue her kidnapped father. Gain new abilities, form alliances, and survive in a harsh and unforgiving world.
Role Overview
We are seeking a 2D level designer to build level environments using provided props, and tilesets.
Scope of Work
- Decorate and detail environments using provided props and tilesets in Godot 3.x
- Design atmospheric and natural layouts that enhance mood, storytelling, and gameplay readability
- Ensure environments feel cohesive, engaging, and consistent with the Stone-Age setting
- Collaborate with the team to match visual direction and integrate feedback
- Contribute creative ideas for environmental storytelling, set dressing, and player immersion
- Maintain performance awareness while adding artistic detail
Requirements
- Strong artistic eye for composition, mood, and visual storytelling
- Basic familiarity with the Godot Engine 3.x and a willingness to learn
- Ability to work with tilesets and modular assets in Godot 3.x to build varied environments
- Collaborative and open to iteration/feedback
- Bonus: Experience with 2D pixel art games or other engines
